I am the Director and a physiotherapist at City Sports and Spinal, and I also have a clinical teaching role for physiotherapy and medical students. My work as a physiotherapist has been varied, with roles in city and country hospitals, working in the community, with kids, and sporting groups, and also educating and supervising students.

The challenge in my work is to take best of our research and incorporate this into clinical practice. This means turning a thorough assessment into a clear explanation, and helping each client on a path to understanding and managing often complex and persistent problems.

We can help to:

  • empower people with knowledge and confidence,
  • enable them through exercise, and
  • encourage them with new ways of understanding, and listening to their body.

My goal is to instil new hope to deal with chronic or persistent pain, or to manage frustrating sporting injuries, and just to stay active, in ways which are important to people of any age or ability. My particular areas of interest are managing headaches and neck pain, arthritis, adolescent postural issues, and shoulder dysfunction in all age groups.

I love being active too. I grew up bushwalking in Tasmania, and have a love of getting outside – walking, running and cycling – with my family, into the mountains and in the bush!
